Cindy Larson, Board Chair

Cindy is currently the manager of a United Methodist Thrift Store in Kearns, UT. She have been involved with UAID for several years first as a volunteer during Holiday Gift Box and now and the board chair of the organization. Cindy has worked with many persons with disabilities throughout her career and enjoys working with the board staff and volunteers to forward the mission of UAID and provide vital resources to those with disabilities.

Vicki Clayson, Co-Vice Board Chair

Vicki is a mother of four children. Her two oldest daughters are twins who have a rare chromosome defect. She has been involved in the disability community for 29 years. As a parent she helped develop many boards and committees at DSPD. Vicki worked at the Utah Developmental Disability Council for 8 years as a Training Coordinator and Fiscal Agent, where she developed programs for families and self advocates through People First. She has been working for ProAxis Navigator Supports as a Community Service Broker for four years where she has helped people with disabilities find services and become employed. She attended Brigham Young University.

Laura Henderson, Co-Vice Board Chair

Laura “Lori” Henderson is the founder of R.I.T.E.S., Inc. a nonprofit that derives its name from their missions statement: “Reaching Independence Through Educating Self and Society”. Their philosophy is to teach and assist individuals to develop skills which will raise their level of independence with creative, quality and consistent care that meets the future needs of the person and the community.

Lau Taufalala

Lau Taufalala was a former gang member who at the age of 13 had stolen and gone for a joyride and wrecked the car he was in. After some time, Lau woke up from his coma and was diagnosed with a brain injury due to injuries sustained in the crash. After many years of rehabilitation, Lau lives on his own with and leads a full life. Lau is a public speaker and an advocate against gang membership and drug use. He has a passion for UAID’s mission and understands the need for services like UAID in the community.

Clovis Long

Clovis is a local business owner with Mustache Power Productions- a full service video production company specializing in event video and live streaming technology.  Clovis became involved with UAID about 4 years ago, while organizing Cub Scout service projects.  His major contributions to UAID include projects in business technology, marketing, and video production.  He lives in American Fork with his wife, Megan and two adorable daughters.

Bekke Robb

Bekke has been involved with the disability community for almost 30 years. She has been a Special Olympics coach, Assistant Special Ed teacher, the founder/Executive Director of Self Reliance of Utah and has been the Administrative Secretary for UAID since September 2015. Bekke is part of the leadership of the Utah Sibs group, a group created to provide support to people who care for their siblings who live with disabilities. She also is the services manager/support provider for her sister who has a cognitive disability.

Carli Coombs This will be my second year with UAID and the Holiday Gift Box program, I also work for a company that supports individuals with disabilities called RITES. I have worked in the field going on 9 years now. My passion is for not only individuals we support each year, but I have a passion for fundraising, teaching the community and expanding my knowledge each day.
